What to do if your cat or dog has fleas, and how to prevent it?-Lucky darling

If you find small black spots on your cat or dog but are unsure if they are fleas, you can wrap the spots in a damp tissue and rub them. If they turn red, then it's a flea infestation because fleas suck blood. If there's no redness, it might just be oxidized sebum secreted by the cat.

Solutions:

First: Deworm (If you're unsure, take your cat to a pet store).

Second: Environmental treatment (Use flea and tick medication like fipronil. Vacuum your bed, sheets, sofa, cat bed, and floor. Then use a UV disinfection lamp 2-3 times a week, avoiding people, pets, and plants during treatment).

Third: Internal treatment

Clean your home frequently.

Try to avoid taking your cat outside.

Precautions:
1. Keep your distance from grassy areas.
2. Avoid buying counterfeit flea and tick products.
3. For external flea and tick treatments, choose original brand products.
4. Choose reputable flea and tick brands (such as Pfizer and Bayer).
